Usage Note 55690: Using the _PARTIND_ variable to define your own data partitions for use by the SAS® High-Performance Data Mining nodes
In SAS® Enterprise Miner™, the SAS High-Performance Data Mining nodes do not support pre-defined partitioning of the data prior to release 13.2. The only partitioning that was supported was to use the HP Data Partition node.
Beginning in release 13.2, new functionality is available. Follow these steps if you want to define your own data partition.
- In your distributed table, create a variable called _PARTIND_.
-
For each observation, specify a 0 or a 1 for the value of this variable. 0 indicates that the observation is to be used for validate data. 1 indicates that the observation is to be used for train data.
- When defining the data source in SAS Enterprise Miner, specify ID as the role for this variable.
